Check out the lyrics before choosing your wedding song

Sometimes it seems that songs are included in wedding compilations based on title alone, or the lyrics in the chorus. On the surface, they sound romantic. Read deeper, and you may find that the story it tells is not one you'd pick for your first dance. For instance:

"If I could fly / I'd pick you up / I'd take you into the night / And show you a love / Like you've never seen / Ever seen..." Benny Mardones is singing is heart out in the chorus of "Into the Night", with gut-wrenching passion. Sounds good! (It is a song that I really, truly like.) But did you miss the beginning of the song?

"She's just 16 years old / Leave her alone, they say / Separated by fools / Who don't know what love is yet..." (Into the Night)

It's about being in love...with a minor.

The moral of the story: Before you pick your wedding music, read the lyrics. All of them.

For those of you looking for 'Into the Night'..

.. you can skip this one. Its a re-recording and Benny sounds dated in this version. The one you are looking for, of course is, the 1989 version..

Into The Night

I wish I had read the reviews before buying Into The Night. It's not the original and he does sound awful.
