Album Review

TNT is, in essence, a pop-metal group. That said, the band mops up the floor with most of their clueless contemporaries; with hyper-refined Euro-metal precision, TNT punctuates their tunes with loads of instrumental details, arrangement twists and turns, and a well-developed sense of melody. On Intuition, TNT delivers tightly wound pop-metal and grandiose power balladry, all of which is filtered through a decidedly European sense of sweeping romance and bombast. It all undoubtedly sounds dated and a bit soulless, but this is a strong effort from the band, nonetheless. Check out "Caught Between the Tigers" for a characteristically killer guitar riff from guitarist Ronnie Le Tekro.

Every Album Of TNT's is 5 Stars!

If you like 80's hairband talent. All of their albums bring me back to the day in high school. I didn't discover them until my senior year in 1992 when I heard "Tell No Tales" (1982) and I was hooked. This band's albums were sountracks to a younger and better time in my life. HIGHLY recommended for those my age who missed out on them. They actually have more recent albums like 2004-2005's "My Religion" and 1998's "Transistor" which still have the same great TNT sound but a little more updated!

Not an easy CD to find. Tony Harnell's vocals are beyond extraordinary. A great purchase for an underated band of the heavy metal error.

Come in and you may want to never leave.

Much like Sean N. below, I discovered this band in 1992 quite by accident. I was sifting through a brown paper bag full of cassettes that a friend was going to sell to the local hock shop, and decided to listen to a few. One of them was TNT "Tell No Tales". This was an experience that I will never forget. I immediately went to every music store I could think of to find CDs from this band. I ended up finding Tell No Tales (1987), a brand new one called Realized Fantasies (1992), and this album, Intuition (1989). This album can only be described as a religious experience. If God made a pop/rock album, this would be it. (note: Despite my connotations, they are not a religious band.) This album, along with Tell No Tales and Realized Fantasies, are must haves for anyone who has ever liked any 80s pop/rock or metal band. Don't think twice, buy it NOW. You will thank me later, and often.

Biography

Formed: 1982 in Trondheim, Norway

Genre: Dance

Years Active: '80s, '90s, '00s, '10s

With a level of musicianship higher than the average hair metal band, Norway's TNT offered a prog-tinged take on pop-metal due largely to the stunning vocal range of lead singer Tony Harnell and the guitar technique of Ronni Le Tekro. Originally consisting of vocalist Dag Ingebrigtsen (aka D.D. Dynamite), bassist Steiner Eikum, and drummer Morten "Diesel" Dahl, TNT formed in the Norwegian town of Trondheim in 1982, releasing an eponymous, Norway-only debut later that year with all lyrics in Norwegian....
