Do NOT Miss This CD!!!!

I/O Earth is definitely a CD I would recommend to my best friend. It is an amazing “first venture” for I/O Earth (Dave Cureton and Adam Gough) and their self-titled CD, I/O Earth. This major undertaking, I believe, took two years to reach fruition and it proves that “Patience is a Virtue”. The results totally made the wait worthwhile. With the very appropriate current theme of “Earth”, it is broken down into three movements – Water, Earth and Air. Rather than just a fluffy, feel good collection, there is something for everyone here…relaxing melodies, heart beating rhythms…fantastic instrumentation. Speaking of wonderful instruments, one cannot forget to mention the perfect vocals of Steve Balsamo (Jesus Christ Superstar, The Storys) and Claire Malin. In the few songs on which they are featured, they excel (especially Steve on Take Me and Come With Me, Louise Barbbins on Introduction and Claire on Home). Even Dave Cureton adds his own vocals to EEEE. You can even catch a taste of Steve’s Mongolian Throat Singing on Interlude #2. See? There is something for everyone. The only downside is that with the 30 second sampling here, you can’t possibly get a real taste of the awesome-ness of this CD. Each song has a definite beginning, middle and end and one part is not complete without the other. It truly does tell a story in music. Find out more about the story and making of this CD on their website This is a “not to be missed” CD. Trust me, the price of this CD will pay itself back after just listening to the first half. I can’t wait to see what “experience” brings to their future recordings. Their journey has just begun and I’m happy to be going along for the ride.

Not sure what the writers were shooting for in this musical offering. At some times the New Age vibe gets working nicely, at others something progressive kicks in. It ends up being something pretty soft, not as much for listening but for mood or background music I guess. Those Tiny Tim vocals on Eee didn't work at all for me. I can't recommend it but I know I'll play it now and then because I like the eerie quality and some of the structure.

Great work

I have listened to this album about twenty times now in the last month. It seems to be more interesting the more I listen. Lot of nice work here. I have truly enjoyed it. This is a band I'd like to see live in a small music hall.
