Clark's New Sound

Chris Clark has put out many different sounding records in his time with Warp and all of which have been phenomenal. To come from the grungy sounding, heavy hitting synths which I have loved ever since I first laid ears on them, to a more laid back less chaotic sounding Clark on Totems Flare, to Iradelphic which seems to show his ability to move away from the synths to more live instrumentals. Listening to this whole album I must say is a treat. Clark touches at his roots with Com Touch with the sound which no one can duplicate, to my personal favorite off the record The Pining Pt1. All of these tracks are very different than what Chis has produced in the past, yet they still have those airy sounding snares and Clark sounding drums. Though I would have liked to see more older sounding songs like those on Throttle Promoter, this album is a great change of pace. All in all 5 stars, a must have for any Clark fan.

You lost me.

I'm a big Clark fan, especially his stuff from Totems Flare. He's excellent at what he does and is miles ahead of most electronic musicians. That being said, I really did not expect an album full of acoustic folk-sounding guitar. This is on the opposite end of the musical spectrum from what I listen to.
