Reseña de álbum

Composer Ramin Djawadi (Mr. Brooks, Open Season, Deception) imbues director Jon Favreau's adaptation of Marvel Comics' Iron Man with enough bombast to fuel two sequels. Djawadi, who has scored his fair share of action-packed television shows like Prison Break and Blade: The Series," treats the superhero with a predictably heavy hand, resulting in a soundtrack that takes the slow-build menace of Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard's work on Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise and dials an industrial army that utilizes crushing percussion, huge strings, and a symphony of distorted guitars that echo Metallica's concerts with the San Francisco Symphony (S&M) minus the vocals. John O'Brien and Rick Boston, as well as Jack Urbont give the old goofy "Iron Man" theme a tech-heavy update, while California punk metal legends Suicidal Tendencies offer up their classic anti-anthem "Institutionalized."

Really good ... but only if you see the movie first!

The whole point of soundtracks is to attempt to aurally recreate the film and/or recapture those same emotions you felt as you watched the film. While this might sound "mediocre" relative to other superhero action soundtracks, a word to the wise: watch the film ... AND then get this soundtrack. For those who don't want the entire album, then the 4 best pieces - that mostly captured action and evolution of Stark to Iron Man - is "Mark II", "Merchant of Death", "Driving with the Top Down", and "Iron Man", with "Mark I" coming in as honorable mention.

Ramin Djawadi is one of my new favorite composers

He cut his teeth on "Prison Break" and really added the extra edge to that show. But his big cinematic style is definitely more suited to blockbusters, and this work on Iron Man is fantastic. His score is driving, sexy, and intense an doesn't feel phoned-in like so many action flicks' scores feel these days. I really like his style, and I really like this score.

This album is AWESOME!!!!!

Ramin Djawadi's music is absolutely incredible! The top songs on this album are 1) Merchant of Death, 2) Fireman, 3) Iron Man, 4) Iron Monger, and 5) Arc Reaktor. Who cares if there is not an Iron Man theme from forever ago.

A multi-talented producer of music for films, television, and video games, Iranian-German composer Ramin Djawadi honed his considerable talents alongside contemporaries like Klaus Badelt, John Debney, Harry Gregson-Williams, and Steve Jablonsky while working for veteran composer Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions film score company. He worked as an assistant to the aforementioned Badelt before venturing out on his own with the RZA-assisted score for director David Goyer's Blade: Trinity (2004)....
