iTunes Editors’ Notes

Recording under the Sun Glitters moniker, Luxembourg producer Victor Ferreira specializes in futuristic, electro-laced psychedelia on par with recordings by Boards of Canada. The title track to his 2012 EP High starts with dreamy, euphoric, ambient sounds pulsing heavily to the rhythm of looped handclaps. But the song really takes life halfway through, when a big, distorted bass seeps in and takes over. Using a similarly throbbing approach, the following “It Takes Me” builds on layers of skipping beats, backward keyboard notes, and a rhythm that sounds sourced from sampled silverware. Pitch-shifted vocals take prominence at the start of “They Don’t Want To Let You Know,” a stunningly gorgeous, Brian Eno–inspired chillwave creation where Ferreira imports early-'90s dream-pop and shoegaze elements. The Moths remix of “It Takes Me” closes the EP with hyper edits that scramble near-cartoonish high-pitched vocals and juxtapose them with a fluttering, orchestral wall of sound.

"duuuude, this is so chill." - My Friend.

Uhh, wow.

Just the samples of the songs messed with my head, big time. But it was interesting...I think I may have to purchase this album just to hear more. Kinda basing the rating off what I heard from samples...

amazing
