Excellence on their 1st album!

I traveled to Dublin the summer this came out. I owned it in vinal. U 2 based their "Bullet Blue Sky" from this albums "Feet On THe Ground". The vinal album originally had pictures of local Dublin citizen's all over {cover & inside} the album cover. Then in the fall of 88 ? they went on Letterman and got exposed to the College market. "Love Don't Work This Way" was a European hit for them. I think "Don't Go" & "I'm Sorry" were too. This is/was one of the best album's of the middle 80's. Better X - 7 than any U 2 albums until Joshua Tree PERIOD. So BUY IT. There is a very honest soulful mastery to their songs, more mature, original and with substance in their subject matter than the PoPPy oriented; U2, Del Amatri, Human Legue, Duran Duran, Flock of Seagulls, Fair Weather Convention.Their second album wasn't bad either. This is truly a masterpiece though.

Classic, Powerful, Inspiring

I always felt that as big as HF were on the college scene they could have been much bigger than that, had U2 not come on so strong at around the same time … I like U2 a lot - love the Flowers, though...

The group was founded as a Dublin street-performance act called the Incomparable Benzini Brothers by schoolmates Liam O'Maonlai (vocals, keyboards) and Fiachna O'Broainain (guitar), the former of whom had played in My Bloody Valentine forerunner Congress. After winning the Street Entertainers of the Year...
