More sacred songs

This is Deadman: Hope rising out of heartbreak, lessons gleaned from difficulty, the sacred discovered in the mundane. Steven Collins's honest and raw voice breaks through a Lanois-esque soundscape of mournful guitars and galloping rhythms with biblical allusions and severe mercy. The songs are timeless and soulful and stark like the landscape around a Texas roadhouse with the warm wind rising up from the border.

Not a single weak link. Beautiful imagery, humanity, and melody is what I love about Deadman and this new cd is amongst the strongest work.

Deadman emerged from mid-'90s grunge to formulate an infectious rock sound. The band, which is comprised of singer/songwriter Steven Collins, pianist Sherilyn Collins, bassist Britton Beisenherz, and drummer John Scully, spent two years culminating a raw rock sound and playing shows in and around their native Texas.
