Album Review

A stunning but brief compilation of Impressions tracks that includes favorites like "It's All Right," plus two motivators in "Amen" and "Keep On Pushing." The mysterious "Gypsy Woman" is the best of the Impressions as a quintet, while the bouncy "I Love You (Yeah)" and the sincere "See the Real Me" are two examples of the close harmonies of the mid-'60s trio — Curt, Sam and Fred — and a testimonial to Curtis Mayfield's prolific writing skills.

It's All Right

This album goes hand in hand with the We're a Winner album. Can't have one without the other. We're a Winner is not available on iTunes. C'mon guys!

Perfect record

Explosive soul married to flawless craftsmanship. It's the sound of all joy in the world dancing in your ears, with soaking wet guitars that Jimi Hendrix would share later on. Everything you want in a vocal trio - three distinct voices with the ability to blend as one ethereal harmony that sounds like it's own instrument.

Pretty Good

this cd is not bad. but, hey, its pretty good considering the fact that its from 1995, if you know what i mean. GO IMPRESSIONISTS!! YOU RULE!! my personal goal is to give every album a better than fair rating.

Their style was marked by airy, feather-light harmonies and Mayfield's influentially sparse guitar work, plus, at times, understated Latin rhythms. If their sound was sweet...
