Album Review

The collective voices of No Secrets drift over the burbling beats and synth twitters of their eponymous teen pop debut. Opener "That's What Girls Do" is sassy and fun, while the girls' cover of Kim Wilde's "Kids in America" (previously released as part of the Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius soundtrack) is bubbly and bright and brash all at once — just like the best summer days. But No Secrets have a hard time sustaining that energy over a full album, mostly because they waver between endorsing innocent fun and uplifting messages, and more lascivious adult themes that teen pop too often tries to reference. "Hot"'s heavy breathing, "Holla!"s, and "You feel me?" shout-outs — not to mention its product-placement references to J-Lo and *N Sync — put the quintet in the same world inhabited by platinum blonde boy-man Aaron Carter; in fact, it's a thematic cousin to Oh Aaron's "Stride [Jump on the Fizzy]," which the No Secrets girls guested on.

Brings back memories

I'm 14 now. But I still adore this CD. It brings back fun memories of me and my friends when we were about 7, jamming out making dance moves & such. :)

soo long ago

i just found this CD in my room and i rember it from when i love it when i was like 6!! i looked but apperently they havent made any other songs. they are the most amazing group. i love "what are you wating for" and "its alright" those songs are the best

Best CD of my childhood!

This was my favorite CD when I was younger, and it still is one of my favorites. It came everywhere with me, including to the beach where I left it in our cottage :( I looked EVERYWHERE for a new copy, and never found one. Finally, I managed to steal all the songs off of YouTube, finally completing the CD with "It's Alright" yesterday, just to discover it's all on here :P The point is. This CD is amazing. It always has been and it always will be. No Secrets shouldn't have broken up, they could've really gone places.
