iTunes Review

Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ billowing cloud of avant-rock is invaded here by a clutch of disco synths, exploring new areas of tempo, personality and atmosphere for this New York art-punk trio. Guitarist Nick Zinner steers the course with imaginative guitar work, drummer Brian Chase probably hasn’t had this much fun drumming on a record before, and singer Karen O wraps herself in electrical-taped chiffon for disco drag-outs “Zero,” “Heads Will Roll” and “Dragon Queen.” Production from David Sitek (TV On the Radio) and Nick Launay ensure It’s Blitz! is a contemporary affair.

Customer Reviews

Yeah Yeah Yeahs are true Rockstars!

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are most likely one of the greatest modern rock bands. They are constantly changing their sound. I own every song they have ever put out and can instantly determine which song is playing within the first few seconds. That is how inventive and unique they are. No two songs ever sounds the same or similar. And this album is no different. No two songs are alike and none of the songs on this album are like any of the songs they've previousy released. Although I do miss Nick Zinner's amazing guitar licks and riffs, it is a different sound than anything they were like before. But still brilliant in a more dance-y way. And Karen O's vocals are as stand-out as ever. And even compliment the beats. All I ask from the next album is please give Nick back his guitar. I miss doing air guitar in my car to YYY songs. Also first review. Awesome. I love this band. Huge fan.

Different but still YYY's

Early reviews said this album was quite different from previous work, and it def is. It's more dancier beats, more synth, but with components that still shout Karen O. Saying this, its still fantastic. This will prolly be an album that will grow on people after a couple listens. So do yourself a favor, and give it a couple listens!

How extremely unfortunate

While I never tire of Fever to Tell and Show Your Bones... While I recommend these albums to anyone and everyone. . . While I purchased this album the second I learned it existed . . . “It's Blitz” is not a Yeah Yeah Yeahs album. This album is packed with formless boring ballads and songs better suited to the Killers than a band that understands rock like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs used to. There are some tiny glimpses of the band that was in songs like “Dull Life,” I strongly advise you not to purchase this album. This album is so bad I am writing my first iTunes review in the hopes that others will avoid my heartbreak.
