Rare early AC/DC "Crabsody in Blue" and "R.I.P. (Rock in Peace)

"Crabsody in Blue" is a forgotten AC/DC gem. It appeared on the Australian version of "Let There Be Rock." “Crabsody in Blue” was banned outside of Australia because of the reference to the STD "crabs." Since track listings from Australian versions of early AC/DC albums differed from international releases, some songs were never released. One of those is”R.I.P. (Rock in Peace)”. It was released on the Australian "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap." Bon Scott is in rare form in both of these classic AC/DC blues rockers.

This whole set was put together of songs acdc left out on the international albums. The songs you find here are the ones left out on Australian album, in my opinion, some of the best are in here not to mention some of the best live performances AC/DC has ever had, if you don't care for the memorabilia of the box set I would strongly downloading the whole set of backtracks!!!! And Rock In Peace :)

Rarities, Rarities, Rarities

I've had several of these tracks on bootlegs. Many of these songs were unavailable in the US. When Backtracks was released, I quickly purchased it. On the physical CDs, the Australian versions of certain songs fade out later than their album-counter-parts. Here, they're the original un-cut versions. The way they were intended to be.

Why not re-release the original Australian albums to iTunes? I'm sure many fans like myself would happily purchase them. I guess I will just stick with my vinyl copies for now. ;)

AC/DC's mammoth power chord roar became one of the most influential hard rock sounds of the '70s, and is now one of the defining sounds of rock and metal. In its own way, it was a reaction against the pompous art rock and lumbering arena rock of the early '70s. AC/DC's rock was minimalist — no matter how huge and bludgeoning their guitar chords were, there was a clear sense of space and restraint. Combined with Bon Scott's larynx-shredding vocals, the band spawned countless imitators...
