EDITORS’ NOTES

Following the success of similar compilations released in France and Australia, We Love Disney pairs contemporary artists with Disney classics in smart, clever ways. Take Ne-Yo, for example, who builds on the concept of Aladdin’s Genie as a Cab Calloway-type showman through a big-band take on “Friend Like Me.” Or country singer Kacey Musgraves, whose chin-up delivery perfectly matches the spirit of “A Spoonful of Sugar,” which she plays like an old western swing tune. Also featured are Ariana Grande (Hercules’ “Zero to Hero”) and Gwen Stefani, who drifts dreamily through “The Rainbow Connection.”

Just No

Maryjaneholland22,

No, just no. This is downright terrible. They have taken such a good thing and ruined it. Especially Jason Derulo of all people singing perhaps the greatest disney song of all time, newsflash he cannot sing, he never sings live..he just lip syncs! I love Disney, and I hate this rehash album.

I love Friend Like Me

#MusicFan,

It's cool that famous singers are singing songs from famous, old movies
