Editors’ Notes

This album is Mastered for iTunes. For Kisses on the Bottom, Paul McCartney dips into the same songbook of 20th-century standards he’s so generously contributed to as a songwriter and a Beatle. With guest contributions from Eric Clapton and Stevie Wonder and backing by jazz vocalist/pianist Diana Krall and her band, he interprets favorites from his youth popularized by the likes of Fats Waller (“I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter”), Nat King Cole (“It’s Only a Paper Moon”), and Frank Sinatra (“My One and Only Love,” one of two bonus tracks).

Customer Reviews

Full of surprises. Unexpected and happy.

There's such a smile in Paul's voice no matter the song. This is a throw-me-into-a-mood album. I'm poppin' Champagne and doing the tango like a rock star with McCartney at the helm. Lovely warm renditions of songs we all remember and now will hear anew. Why Goodbye by a new artist, Buddy Mix hits the same notes. I recommend you listen to it too on Itunes. I know Paul would love that one too. Great job. Tonight I'll be fallin' asleep to a swingin' McCartney dream.

Sir Paul McCartney is Classic!

It doesn’t get better than Paul McCartney sing these standards! A wonderful addition to your itunes collection whether you’re a fan of Paul or just a fan of classic songs of the 20th Century. Download and enjoy. And a side note, while searching for Paul’s “My Valentine” I ran across a really nice song titled “It’s Valentine’s Day” by Tyler Barham. Smooth.

A Classic singing the Classics

Sir Paul can romance me any day! I was originally wary about only 2 original tracks on this album, but after hearing it on NPR I fell even deeper in love with him. Here's to many more years of music coming from the great Paul McCartney!

Genre: Rock

Out of all the former Beatles, Paul McCartney by far had the most successful solo career, maintaining a constant presence in the British and American charts during the '70s and '80s. In America alone, he had nine number one singles and seven number one albums during the first 12 years of his solo career, and in his native United Kingdom, his record was nearly as impressive. McCartney's hot streak began in 1970, when he became the first Beatle to leave the group. A little more than a year after the...
