Linkin Park is amazing live!

Linkin Park is an amazing band to see live. I've seen them a couple times, and each time they're amazing. They're very energetic and powerful. Each song they play is incredible to hear live. In this iTunes exclusive EP, Linkin Park plays more of their newer songs from their latest album, "Minutes to Midnight." "Wake" is a short intro before Linkin Park kicks off with their powerful, "Given Up." Then they play "Shadow of the Day," but what's really cool is their live version of "My December." "My December" is an older song from their Hybrid Theory days. It's very popular, and unless you're a true Linkin Park fan or have bought Hybrid Theory on iTunes, you haven't gotten around to hear this amazing song! "In Pieces" was the most surprising song to see on the SoHo list. This is a first for me to hear this song live. It's different, but nice. It's not my favorite song off "Minutes to Midnight," but Linkin Park pulls through and makes it great. Then their grand finale is their popluar hit, "Bleed it Out." Though shorter than what they play live, but still a great song to listen to none-the-less and it's great on this album. In all, if you haven't gotten around to hear Linkin Park live, other than Live in Texas, then this is a treat for you. iTunes needs to bring out more Linkin Park live albums. This EP is awesome and it's well worth it! Linkin Park rocks!

every song is great besides one...

let me start out by saying linkin park is my all time favorite band, and i have such and amazing respect for chester. this album is near perfection, but there are a few things that could be done a little differently. i believe that they should have stuck with the recording process that they used for live in texas, because the sound of the vocals in a few of the songs can be raw (i.e. in pieces, shadow of the day) here are my reviews. Wake: A good opening to an album, but not worth having a live recording of. there are no vocals and its only a minute and a half long. even though its a great song, and it sounds great, its not something that should be recorded live and then sold. they should have done something more like no more sorrow, valentines day, breaking the habit, or the little things give you away, because with those songs, you are getting your moneys worth. Given up: Chesters voice sounds amazing. it wavers a bit on the high scream note for the chorus, but give him a break, i challenge any one else out there to do that for a whole tour. the rest of the song is amazing. buy it if you dont have the linkin park underground 7, where there is a better recording of given up. one note about linkin park: no matter how good their live recordings sound, you havent heard them live until your right in that stadium with them. it is nothing like the live recordings. Shadow of the day: a great live recording as far as i am concerned.as any live linkin park song, it is even better IN CONCERT when your actually there however. overall, a great buy. chesters voice can waver a bit on the high notes, but its nothing that really affects the beauty or feeling of the song. that is there to stay. my december: By far the best live song i have ever heard in my entire life. no exaggeration. i love the studio version, dont get the wrong, but when you hear the end of my december, it brings you to tears. this song is about chesters divorce, as if he hadnt had enough to deal with in his life. being molested as a child by his father and given crack by age ten, then having his parents divorce at age 11, is more than any kid, no, any PERSON should have to go through. buy this song. in pieces: this song has changed my life. it has said the things i though i could never say and expressed in a way that was so clear that the world opened up. one of my favorite songs of all time... in the studio at least. i hate to say it, but this live version is awful. chesters voice strains for the notes and when he doesnt hit them, there is a throaghty growly sound. i bought it without even listening to the preview, and taht was a mistake. it is the only song i am disappointed with on this album, as much as i hate to say it. but give chester some credit, its a hard song to sing. however, you should save your money. Bleed it out: i cannot listen to this song without putting on a smile or bouncing around. even though it is a song about something very serious, it is meant to be fun. amazing studio version, and just as good a live version. worth the buy. thanks for reading! please give me feedback.

awesome

This live show is great! Hearing My December live again is truly awesome and worth the buy!

Biography

Formed: 1996 in Los Angeles, CA

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s, '10s

Although rooted in alternative metal, Linkin Park became one of the most successful acts of the 2000s by welcoming elements of hip-hop, modern rock, and atmospheric electronica into their music. The band's rise was indebted to the aggressive rap-rock movement made popular by the likes of Korn and Limp Bizkit, a movement that paired grunge's alienation with a bold, buzzing soundtrack. Linkin Park added a unique spin to that formula, however, focusing as much on the vocal interplay between singer Chester...
