Someone remix this man...

Jackie Wilson's vocal acrobatics still give you a sense of how exciting he must have been as a performer. Not all the songs are great, but his voice takes most to a level that make this cd worth the money. The problem with a lot of Wilson's work is that it is saddled with the lamest background chorus (even in its day) in soul music. I'm usually a purist, but if someone remixed his work and could dial it out he might get the recognition he deserves as a major artist of the 50's and 60's.

Awesome collection of hits. Shows some of his true talents. One of the most influentual artist of all time.


Don't poo-poo old Jackie too quickly. I can remember back in the 60's when his work was considered some of the very best. Music changes, no doubt, but in his day, he was great. A true performer.
