Jamie Lynn Fletcher is a rare talent that conveys stunning emotion in her delivery of a song. There's an angry, confrontational voice that tells of love lost without true resolution. There's a sad and lonely voice that shares the bittersweet knowledge of that love yearned for that will not return. There's a sexy sultry voice that tempts you into feeling the passion she chooses to share. There's a playful voice that dances over lighter fair and leaves you smiling.
Much of this album was recorded live in studio, and has a real feel that you might experience in a piano bar. Production quality is exceptional.
The songs play back in my mind uninvited.. a sign that she's done something really right here.
Truly wonderful music...
This is really, really sweet music.
It took a few turns through "Jamie," before I understood why I liked it so much. This is music for grownups. Every track touches a part of your soul which reminds you why you would still rather turn off the television and listen to music.
"My Love For You," shines bright on Jamie. If you’re an optimist you’ll appreciate Jamie Fletcher's sense of humor as well her perspective on love and romance.
There’s a smile on the edges of many of the songs but there’s also that fine line of real life experience between creating a memory (It MIght As Well Be Spring) and making one more mistake (The Fool) in life.
The emotions, happy or sad, are evident throughout Jamie. Grown up music. Grown up feelings. What an absolutely wonderful album.
