Alphonse! You swinging mad-cap!

Oh man, this is a great set. Alphonse goes way back for this listener as I remember him with Larry Coryell's Eleventh House when I was a kid. But, for those of you who are living in the now, as Mouzon clearly is; this cd is a must own. He swings hard and drives this band, clearly coming across as the leader. I like a drummer led band that exudes authority. Tony William's Quintet is sorely missed for this listener. But, happily I am here to tell you, Mouzon The Man from NC is a Commander in that lineage. If you like your jazz swinging so hard you can feel the club's live vibe, you cannot do better than this set. Get this recording!
