underrated

I know Jesse was definitely a Prince colleague and it shows but this album defined the year 1985 for me. I can remember playing this cassette over and over the whole year of high school....as I drove around the country side in my 1970 Ford pickup. I have to say that this is probably one of my all time fav r&b albums. That sound is nothing but 80's Minneapolis soul and for me nothing else compared. Never got tired of this stuff.

Superb

I'll admit, after hearing TheTime broke up back in '84, I never thought the music would be the same for any of them. Boy I'm glad I was wrong. To my shock, Jesse came out hard and strong with this one. I damned near wore out my cassette playing this all the time. Of course the hits on here are the prize, but the sleepers and best tunes for me are "Let's have some fun" and "Special Love". Ah man! Magnificent! I definitely recommend this for Time fans, Jesse fans, funk fans, and R&B fans in general.

Sly inspired,Prince hookup, Jesse perfected

A lot of the reviews that i write are on the music that i already have on my iPod/mac,I check from time to time to see if iTunes has upgraded their library. Jesse Johnson is a talented musician as is Prince both drew influence from Sly for soul music as it was called back in the day and influence from Santana for rock.Jesse didn’t have as much commercial success as Prince but, he could jam with the best of them even Prince.
