Album Review

If the Springsteen tunes hadn't been included, this would still have been a good album. But Cash sinks his teeth into "Highway Patrolman" and the title tune and gives them the guts that Springsteen only dreamed of.

Hypocritical?

Tips for writing a great review according to iTunes, and I quote: "Praise music on its own terms, not at the expense of other artists, their music or the audience of particular genres." Please explain to me how "gives them the guts that Springsteen only dreamed of" conforms to that particular tip. As a fan of Springsteen, a member of the audience of his genre, if you will, I sorely wish you would have followed your own advice. For what it's worth, I gave this music a 5-star rating, on its own terms.

Brilliant

Definitely a different style for Cash. With all the crazy weird songs and beats coming into the 80's he did well to adapt. Great Springsteen cover, the Boss's version may not even be as well done as this.
