Miss You Dennis

Dennis was a great teacher as well as a fine player. Anybody who's learning sax would get a lot out of his books too. I did.

I was surprised to see this album available on iTunes. Dennis wanted to make this cd for a long time and fortuantly he finnished his part before his death. I've followed his career from Gatemouth Brown to Buckwheat and many others. He played his best and was the happiest while playing for Delbert McClinton. It is so sad he died young, who knows what else he might have accomplished.

Soulful Cat

Dennis was a very soulful cat and a really nice guy. I had not heard of him until he stepped up to the plate after the retirement of the great Don Wise in Delbert McClinton's band. He held his own and more is one of the hottest blues bands on planet earth. On any given night Delbert and his band can and will scorch the paint right off the walls. Dennis died of a heart attack on the road with Delbert recently and didn't get to see this, his first album released. But I assume if you are reading this you are alive so get to it and buy this album. It is a way cool listen and Delbert sits in for "Since I Fell For You" and as always nails another standard to the wall like he owns it. And while you are at it buy one of Don Wise's album and you will be happy twice! Then go see Delbert and see first hand what I mean about the paint on the walls.........that will make you three times happy!!

Genre: R&B/Soul

Years Active: '00s

New Jersey-based Dennis Taylor delved into music full-time after a stint with the U.S. Air Force. A hookup with producer Fred McFarlane, facilitated by Robin S. (a mutual friend), got the ball rolling and spawned Taylor's breakthrough CD, Enough Is Enough (Dome Records). Produced by McFarlane and Darryl James, it marries R&B grooves in a contemporary package delivered by Taylor in a baritone that is reminiscent of the great lower registers of yesteryear as well as current heartthrobs Donnell...
