Album Review

The follow-up to 2009's Good Day, Peter White's 13th studio effort, 2012's Here We Go, features more of the adept smooth jazz guitarist's lyrical and lightly funky cuts. Sticking primarily to his acoustic nylon-string guitar, White mixes in keyboards, various percussion instruments, saxes, and horns to create various moods throughout with the primary vibe being one of relaxed joy. To these ends, we get the steamy R&B-infused cut "Time Never Sleeps," the languid instrumental pop of "Our Dance," and the club-ready dance number "Joyride." Adding to the sophisticated aura of the album are guest appearances by such artists as David Sanborn, Andrew Neu, and Kirk Whalum.

AWESOME piece of work!

I can't stop listening to this album!!! I've been a fan of Peter's music for a very long time. Love his strong melodies, signature sound, and the passion he puts into his music. This album does not disappoint and is truly one of his best! Every song is different, thoughtful, and takes me to a much better place. "Here We Go" features the ah-mazing David Sanborn and makes me want to get up and groove, the romantic "Our Dance" features the soulful Kirk Whalum and makes feel like I'm silently communicating with my partner on the ballroom dance floor while dancing this beautiful waltz, "Costa Rica" has true Latin rhythm that leaves me with a happy-go-lucky feel, "Requiem for a Princess" is beyond beautiful and gets me into a introspective and thoughtful mood, "Time Never Sleeps" is a jazzy tune with Peter on guitar and Philippe Saisse on piano. Yes, I can go on and on. :) This album is a masterpiece, and everyone should have it in their collection!

Bit disappointed unfortunately

Only songs that I like are Night After Night, Joyride, and Requiem for a Princess. The album overall was not nearly as strong as his last 4 he has made. Felt that many of the songs lacked soul and direction.

He's done it again

A bit Rippingtonesque and thus all the more awesome. great stuff Peter... Lovin it.

Smooth jazz guitarist Peter White's lyrical lines and musical inventiveness are a joy to listen to. The affable Englishman's charm and playfulness come through in his music, giving his style of smooth jazz a liveliness that others in the genre lack. Born September 20, 1954, to an English father and a French mother in Luton, a town north of London, England, White and his family moved soon after his birth to nearby Letchworth. His brother Danny was born a few years later. As a child, White loved...
