New Generation Star of Jazz and Beyond

Esperanza, winner of a Grammy in 2010, is an outstanding singer, musician and composer who will be a major force in early 21st century music. This first album is an important benchmark to follow her development.

Class Favorite

One of my Mass Communication students played Junjo for the class -- part of an exercise in music and identity. She said the artist changed her life. For the right ears, such as mine, Esperanza's The Peacocks lends greater depth to life.

Wow! Esperanza Spalding, a new addition to my iPod, has absolutely moved me with this album. It is as if her creative bass-melodies and soul-diva scatting have reached out from my speakers and touched my soul. Great album!
