iTunes Review

Though his country credentials are undeniable, Jimmy Wayne is no honkytonk hell-raiser. Instead, he emphasizes his Southern romantic charm on his third album Sara Smile. Wayne sets the keynote for this song collection with his sultry, slightly countrified rendition of the title track, enlisting Hall & Oates to sing backup on the tune they made famous back in 1976. He sustains the album’s tender mood in classy numbers like “I’ll Never Leave You,” “Just Knowing You Love Me” and “Belongs to You”; the aching “Just Look at You” is an especially potent dose of pure desire. Wayne’s softly smoldering vocals are applied to songs of loss (“All the Time In the World”) and personal conviction (“Things I Believe,” co-written by Keith Urban). Though Sara Smile goes heavy on the ballads, there are some outbursts of upbeat country-rock here, most notably “There’s a Memory.” “Elephant Ears” — an account of a child’s struggle to love — closes things on a sensitive note. Wayne’s easy-going elegance is a consistent pleasure to hear.

This album makes me "Smile"

Jimmy and his team has put together a great collection of songs on this album that highlight his beautiful vocals. The title track, "Sara Smile," has always been a fan favorite and it is so great to finally have it released for the whole world to hear. The album consists of some never-released fan favorites as well as many brand new tracks. Jimmy's voice is absolutely beautiful in this me chills everytime. Jimmy is always able to deliver so much emotion in hia music, especially in tracks like "Elephant Ears" and "All The Time In The World." This album also has a track written by Keith Urban ("Things I Believe"), which has to be another bonus for me. ^_^ Over all, this is an amazing album by an extremely talented artist and performer. I have been a fan for a long time now and Jimmy never ceases to amaze me with his musical talent and big heart.

Stand out tracks (hard to choose cause I love them all): "Things I Believe," "All The Time In The World," "Elephant Ears," "Just Knowing You Love Me," and "Sara Smile"

By all Nash Vegas accounts, North Carolina singer/songwriter Jimmy Wayne comes from the wrong side of the tracks. Born in 1972, he was abandoned by his father at a young age and raised by a troubled mother and in a series of foster homes when she was in prison. On his 15th birthday he saw his stepfather shoot his stepsister three times, paralyzing her, and survived a murder attempt by the same man. He entered, and then ran from, a county home and became a homeless youth who did what was needed to...
