iTunes Review

While Keb’ Mo’ came to mainstream attention as a blues artist, his talents reach further than any single genre. 2011’s self-produced The Reflection features a solid set of tunes that turn away from the blues and settle into a laid-back R&B/soul gait. Mo’s vocals are always assured and it’s his easeful way with a tune that lends a generous empathy to “All the Way,” “The Reflection (I See Myself In You)” and the cover of the Eagles’ “One of These Nights.” India.Arie guests on the smooth groove of “Crush On You.” Best of all, however, is Mo’s duet with Vince Gill on the touching retro-soul track, “My Baby’s Tellin’ Lies.” His determination on “We Don’t Need It,” the great ensemble playing on “Just Lookin’” and the light funk driving “Something Within” all point up a man who can breathe new life into everything he sings. The Deluxe Edition features three cuts from the album performed with acoustic guitar and vocal for intimate results.

This is not Keb' Mo'

I think this is Kevin Moore. Keb I know does not make easy music. I hope he comes back the next album.

A beautiful rose!

I have everything Keb Mo has written and listen to his music all the time. I loved this CD and felt totally connected to the music. The flow of this whole CD is just incredible. HIs soul is deeply felt in this.

I love his songs in Memphis Beat, also, and hope they produce a soundtrack for it.

The reflection is not the keb mo I know, This will be the last time I pre-order.. What happened to the keb mo charm, this thing is too much noise not enough MO

A skilled frontman as well as an accomplished sideman, he writes much of his own material and has applied his acoustic, electric, and slide guitar skills to jazz- and rock-oriented bands. Born Kevin Moore in Los Angeles to parents of Southern descent, he was exposed to gospel music at a young age. At 21, Moore joined...
