From a cellist

Seeing this man play in the very small and intimate recital space above An Die Musik in Baltimore, Md was and always will be an incredibly memorable experience for me. He performed several of the Bartok pieces on this CD and mentioned the Led Zepplin treat on the CD. Matt Haimovitz is more than just a kick ass cellist. He is a pioneer of amazing and unique music rising up into the known world. This CD is a more than excellent introduction of him for anyone, musically inclined or not.

Haimovitz's Romanian Flare

This Album is very personal and intimate. Getting to hear the music of the eastern european countries (Romania) played by Matt Haimovitz should be a very savory experience for any music lover. The passion he exudes, the musicality with which he plays and his wounderful adventurous character make this one of the best classical cd's out right now. Having studied with him this summer I can say that I regard him as the most influencial musician in our time. He is a gem in the classcal music world and his music is equally as shiney.
