Best Christmas Album Ever!

This baby boomer bought Miss Smith's Christmas album when it was first released on the then-standard 33 RPM "long playing" vinyl record. I loved it from the start and immediately understood why my parents spoke so fondly of Kate Smith's radio broadcasts. Sadly, that album has been gone a long, long time, and I've missed it! What a joy to rediscover it here on iTunes and to enjoy Miss Smith's performances as much as ever! Her rich alto voice and masterful phrasing are unsurpassed by any performer past or present. "The Kate Smith Christmas Album" would make a wonderful gift for someone you love!

3 Generations of my family loved Kate Smith

My Grandmother who died in 1941 loved the young Kate Smith on the radio. She was dubbed the Song Bird of the South. My Mom inherited that love for her and passed it on to my by playing it over and over at Christmas. I swore I would NEVER listen to any of that kind of music when I grew up. It sneaks up on you, the patina of memories that come flying back to you when you hear what your grew up with. You will love this Christmas music. It's warm and wonderful. Silver Bells and I heard the bells on Christmas Day are my favorites.
