Not the Corey I know

All Corey needs is himself and a guitar and its gold. But he's trying too hard to come out with music that has too many instruments and sounds that sound nothing like Corey music. His old songs were about his many life experiences and hardships. That's what made em' great. But most of his new stuff isn't about anything particular at all. I love Corey Smith and will always be a huge fan, but this new "mainstream" sound isn't for me. I'll keep listening to his first 3 albums and enjoying his live shows.

Different isn't always better

As a Corey Smith fan I was extremely disappointed with this album. If Corey did not have an established fan base this album would not help his cause. Most of the songs on here seem randomly written about nothing in particular. Save $10 and an hour of your life and don't waste your time. Any of Corey's other albums are 100 times better than this one.

"if i ain't country...."

He used to sing about how he didn't care if he fit in the maintstream box but now when I listen to this CD it seems like he has completely sold out!! Its so disappointing.

"My daddy taught me to be own kinda man
He said “Son you don’t have to go along with the crowd” aw
So if I ain’t country then I’m pretty frickin proud
Oh Well I don’t need their labels anyhow"

Following high school he attended Gainesville State College, transferred to the University of West Georgia, and...
