Masterful Groove

I was shocked by how good this album is the first time I heard it.
It helps that the first two tracks are particularly strong, so I was instantly hooked by the dense yet vast layers of sounds and samples mixed and mashed and strung out in a vast atmospheric jam session. The tracks don't run on too long, the album moves, and a variety of rhythms (from hip hop to psychedelic rock) are used to direct the traffic flow of countless sounds and samples that run in all speeds and in all directions.
Lilacs & Champagne feels like if RJD2, the Books, and Sun Araw were all one project.
The samples are wonderfully chosen, and approached with tastefulness and a definite love of reverb.
I must say, quite a masterful job done on the mixing and mastering, and I haven't even gotten to hear the vinyl yet! But it IS ordered and hopefully on it's way, this ones well worth it.

After Hours Party Music

This is music for a cocktail party in a cave. It's kind of creepy, but very cool. Definitely for the listener that likes spooky grooves in the wee hours of the morning.

Lilacs and Champagne

Kind of reminds me of soft machine… not to bad

The duo cited the production styles of hip-hop legends J-Dilla and Madlib as their main inspirations for the project. True to their instrumental work with Grails,...
