iTunes Editors’ Notes

Daughn Gibson developed a love of country music while working as a truck driver; his stage name is a pun combining country pioneer Don Gibson and blues-rocker Stevie Ray Vaughn. A physically imposing man with a deep, rich baritone voice, Gibson recorded his second album with guitarists John Baizley (Baroness) and Jim Elkington (Brokeback), supplementing his own synthesizers, loops and samples. The 21st-century rockabilly gallop of the opening "The Sound of Law" and first single "Kissin on the Blacktop" bring the most energy, but the wistful pedal-steel-driven ballad "All My Days Off" is equally effective.

Keep On Truckin'

I picture riding across 'Anywhere' on a long, long stretch of highway on a dark night. The radio's on, and Daughn Gibson's at the wheel. The music contains elements of Rock, Pop, Country, Folk, Electronic, and Hip Hop ... like the radio's combining stations to form a 'Whole New Sound.' The voice of the singer is Pure Greased Emotion. Ride On!

Great sounds.

A perfect sophomore album. More refined sound but he hasn't lost himself in production like many artists do the second time around.

A storyteller at heart who has redefined the art form. Well done, sir.

Here's the scoop

They walk in and realize that there must be a mix up of some sort. They move further into the quaint, dark little bar and realize everyone is wearing cowboy hats and boots. It about that time that thier manager comes back from a little room off the backside of the stage and explains that they made a wrong turn about two hours and 178 miles ago and this isnt the place where their gig was scheduled.

To make the best of things, they decided to take the stage anyway as they were geared up and ready to play. So, it was at this time the band had to make a few changes to thier set and they decided to put a country spin to thier otherwise gothic style. But, being true musicians, Type O Negative delivered a very versatile show and created a new genre of music.....

Well, thats my story anyway...LOL
