These blokes have truly nosedived

My God, what happened?

The Swiss truly had something! Starting with their earlier EPs: Movements, Bubble Bath, Double Or Nothing, I loved everything that made them recognizable. I adored Swiss hallmarks such as their spacey synth noodlings, thumping basslines, tom-tom fills, and that fat kick drum. The tracks were sparse yet chock full of energy. It was such an interesting take on the venerable italo disco genre.

What happened?

Soon to be classics such as "Manthem" and "Double or Nothing" have gone by the wayside. Disco is slowly but surely coming back into vogue but I can't help but feel that The Swiss are going in the wrong direction. I have had it with this generic house music. It is chock full of goofy vocals, simplistic chords, and unrecognizable production.

The Swiss had something until they gave it all up for what is trendy.
