Ahead of the Wheel

While Knees and Bones is most certainly not the easiest of albums to listen to, it is a piece of sonic art that is far ahead of its time. Originally released in 1983, this album contains three of the most intense noise compositions that I have ever heard. This album makes current artists like Alec Empire, Nic Endo, Merzbow, and Noisex seem like very cheap imitations. And indeed they are, given that this album was made almost 20 years before any of these aforementioned artists began experimenting with noise. What is more impresive, is that unlike current noise artists who rely on synthesizers and samplers, Controlled Bleeding did it all with conventional instrumentation. For those of you interested in experimental or noise music, this is a must have as it is among the few American contributions to noise music.

True Masters!

Words cannot express the power contained on this album. That it was recorded 25 plus years ago and destroys anything the current noise scene has to offer is a sad and enlighting fact.
