50 Songs, 3 Hours 29 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

This massive collection of b-sides, cover songs, Peel Sessions, remixes, and unreleased tracks tells the Soundgarden story from a fascinating angle. Though their studio albums were carefully crafted projects, Echo of Miles reveals the band’s looser side. Whether it’s songs that landed on compilations (like “Birth Ritual” for the Singles soundtrack and “Sub Pop Rock City” from Sub Pop 200) or their many amazing covers (like The Rolling Stones’ “Stray Cat Blues” and The Stooges’ “Search and Destroy”), Soundgarden were far ahead of their competition as the premier hard rock band of the late ‘80s and ’90s.

Great, But Not Essential

For a guy like me who has all of Soundgarden's studio and live albums and EP's this is a great thing to buy because it collects all of the individual songs that I don't have or weren't included on their albums. What I'm really hoping for is a follow up to King Animal which I thought was a great comeback.

It may have some repeats, but overall good

Some songs ("Sub Pop Rock City," "Black Rain," "Telephantasm," and several songs from the Super Deluxe re-release of Superunknown) have been previously released on different albums, but few songs are missed from this collection. And for those of you who complain about the fact that Soundgarden is releasing old material, please shut up. Hardcore fans like me, who didn't have the opportunity to collect all the singles that contain many of these rarities as B-sides, welcome a chance like this. From what I've heard on YouTube comps, the material is epic, and I think even the complainers will be pleased if they haven't heard this stuff before. 20 years overdue, but worth it.

One Minute of Silence

Finally they remastered and released "One Minute of Silence"!!! It really shows Soundgardens range and depth AND it adds a lot of value to this extravagant super deluxe box set!
