KRISTINA's Is Simply Wonderful !

If You Loved ABBA , CHESS, and MAMMA MIA ! You Will Absolutely Love Kristina. KRISTINA's Music and Lyrics Are Incredible powerful. Its a shame the Concert Wasn't Filmed Live. But The Music and The Lyrics are incredible !

Music was Phenominal!!

Kristina: At Carnegie Hall was a great album for it being translated into English. I loved the fact that Helen Sjöholm reprised her role as Kristina once more, and Karl-Oskar was played by the outstanding tenor, Russell Watson. But what I want in the iTunes store, and other people have been waiting for as well, is "Kristina från Duvemåla" (with the original Swedish cast) so if we could get that in the American iTunes store that would be great, and it would make the Kristina experience even better!!

You've got to hear this!

Yes, my title is a play on "You've Got to Be There", the biggest showstopper in this "poperetta" from Sweden. I usually really dislike this genre…I'm one of the few people in the world who don't like "Les Miz", but I really do love the music in this piece. The melodies are lovely, the lyrics are poignant (although not as good as the original Swedish in fitting the melody, but that's almost always the case, as in "Les Miz", too), and the woman singing the lead role of Kristina, Helen Sjöholm, has a fabulous voice. She originated the role back in 1995 and has made it hers since then.

The story is as sad and full or misery as "Les Miz", about Swedish immigrants to the Minnesota Territory in the 1850's, and based on a very well-known Swedish novel, "The Emigrants", that was made into a movie back in the '70's with Liv Ullmann. Anyway, don't be afraid of buying this if you liked "Chess" or "Mamma Mia!" You will love it.
