Customer Reviews

Blondfire's new album finally came out on itunes. I've been a huge fan of this brother/sister duo ever since their free itunes single: 'L-L-Love' debuted back in 2004. Since then, I've bought all of their stuff on itunes, and must say, they've only gotten better. Erica Driscoll's voice is absolutely amazing and with it, Blondfire has really developed a terrific sound all to their own. Catchy melodies, great lyrics, this band has it all. This album has been long-awaited (their last itunes release was three years ago), but is truly worth buying and listening to over and over again. Listening to old favorites like 'L-L-Love' as well as new soon-to-be-favorites 'My Someday' and 'Pretty Young Thing' reminds me why I fell in love with this band in the first place. My only complaint is that they have released so little, hopefully this album will be the first of many full-length releases.

Amazing Debut LP from Blondfire

Blondfire (FKA Astaire) has been quietly and sparsely releasing songs over the past four years, but this - THIS - is the gold ring. "My Someday" is immediately catchy, but holds up to repeated listens and deserves some solid time in heavy rotation. Some tracks are playful ("Into the Sea," "Pretty Young Thing"), some are more serious ("Always The Last To Know," "All In My Mind"), but all are done to near-perfection. From start to finish, it's a wonderfully solid debut album, as sleek and sophisticated in sound as any modern day music veteran.

Blonfire debut album!

I had to buy the CD on cdbaby because it was not out on iTunes yet, but I don't care! So glad it's finally on here. It's exactly what I was hoping the album to be. A little bit of electro pop, a little bit of rock. Hopefully this will be the first of a string of many amazing albums!

Formed: 2005 in Grand Rapids, MI

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '00s, '10s

Michigan indie rock outfit Blondfire was created by sibling pair, Erica and Bruce Driscoll. Previously known as Astaire, the brother-and-sister duo changed their name to Blondfire in order to avoid any potential legal hassles from the iconic actor's estate. Though their name had changed, they kept the band's sound the same, sticking with the dreamy and sweet electronic-tinged pop that brought to mind the Cardigans and Metric. They signed briefly with EMI in 2006, but left the label before finishing...
