the best Bohème recording

Turst me! of all the big name opera singers, nothing can compare to this recording, the singings are great! the orchestra is dynamic. Renata's voice is definitely angelic, Tullio is far better than Pavarotti! Best buy!!!

Great recording

There is no definitive recording of La Boheme, but this one comes as close to perfect as any. Tebaldi and Bergonzi were in their primes here and the singing is ravishing. In fact, everyone including the orchestra and conductor are top-notch. Even the sound quality is wonderful. You can't beat it at this price.

Tebaldi and her overwhelmingly beautiful voice.

I'm not an opera aficionado by any means but even a layman like myself cannot fail to be impressed with the expressiveness and sheer amplitude of of Renata Tebaldi's voice. Definitely not a tweety-bird, screechy "contratrici" here, but a legendary soprano voice with heft, depth, overpowering force and feeling. I enjoyed the singing of the other leads in this recording but Renata Tebaldi's stands out most in my mind and heart. Definitely a worthwhile buy.

He performed in church choirs and in child roles in the Busseto Opera. At 14, he auditioned for Edmondo Grandini, who decided that Bergonzi was a baritone and offered him lessons....
