37 Songs, 2 Hours 41 Minutes

EDITORS’ NOTES

Celebration is a befitting retrospective for the shapeshifting international icon: a double-length, 36-song greatest-hits collection. Every era, every reinvention, every musical nuance is captured here, from the '80s gleam of "Burning Up" and "Like a Virgin" to the ghetto-fab swagger of "Music" and the embrace of dance music culture ushered in by "Ray of Light." Among the extra goodies collected here are the Benny Benassi–produced title track and a Madonna/Lil Wayne collaboration (“Revolver”).

A Collection That Should Be Celebrated

This album was basically released as a way for Madonna to wrap up her contract with Warner Bros. Records, and while it's not the greatest collection of hits, it's sufficient and probably the best we'll get for a while. This week (the week of September 29, 2009 - the album's release date) I would advise going to a store and buying a physical copy of the album, this exact version is available for as much as $4 lower than what it is on iTunes.

Anyway, this has a lot of great hits, and I'm surprised it has a few songs from each of her albums. I'm also in love with the title track, but my favorite has got to be the new one, "Revolver" with Lil' Wayne. I know that some key hits are missing from this collection, which is why they should have used radio edits of some of these songs so they could fit the important missing tracks on here, but I guess they figured including the most complete album versions of most of these songs was more important than including every single song.

In the end, this is a great collection to have for someone who is not a huge fan of Madonna's, doesn't have the money to buy all her albums, or just likes these songs!

TOTALLY DYNAMIC SET

MADONNA has been one of the most consistently dynamic musical ICONs of the past 30 years. "CELEBRATION" is the perfect 2-Disc greatest hits set to define that dynamic career... This album offers all of it... from Madonna's earliest musical outings, to her dance floor perfection... to her truly artistic song writing.... and even her latest.... the 2000's club scene.... Madonna has always been "HOT" and a trend to be followed..... "CELEBRATION" truly does celebrate that landmark career... Don't miss this collection folks!

Fantastic package but one big detail...

The 2 disc set it's just fantastic, very pleasing and well done, the re-mastering of the tracks makes them sound incredible, but nobody seems to recognize that Music is just messed up, it's got this weird skips and stuff that makes the track unpleasant.

I downloaded the song from iTunes and got that weird sound, so I bought the physical copy of the 2 disc set and Music also sounded messed up there, I feel very unsatisfied as a customer!!
