Nothing to Naysay

Naysayer, a hardcore band from Richmond VA, has produced a heavy, earth shaking release on Reaper Records. A new cleaner sound (that only makes the distortion that much grittier) on the guitars, plus a revamp of the bass sound that gives the classic Warzone esque picking and fretwork noise is just some of the things Laid to Rest boasts. Along with astounding drum quality on the recording and intricate double bass work that gives Naysayer their new age hardcore sound while still harking back to the heavy New York classics. The vocals have a new dimension but one thing remains the same, the raw feeling of aggression that the lyrics bring. I am not surprised whatsoever that Naysayer produced a solid 12' considering their 7' releases were so impressive but I am pleasantly surprised by the change in quality and mastering.
