Customer Reviews

It'll be great when it comes out! I JUST KNOW IT! But it will be a long couple of months :'(

Gorgeous Delivery

So far I've only listened to "boyish" and "Monsoon" because those are the only 2 released right now and all I can say is that I'm astonished by the talent presented so far. Boyish has an especially different sound from Hippo Campuses trademark vibes but they make it work well. And Monsoon- wow. I've never heard a song so delicate and beautiful with such meaningful lyrics, again sounding a little different from their normal sound. The gorgeous acoustics and the sudden swings up and down in Jakes voice add nice little touches that perfect the personal story the song tells. I doubt anyone has read thus far into my review and maybe I'm just a little too excited for the album to be fully released but this band is so promising. I've seen them once live and their sound is the same as through earbuds. Im looking forward to seeing them @ Paradise Rock Club in April 2017. So happy for this band, love the new stuff and I can't wait for the rest to come out! :)

The only thing I don't like about the debut LP from Hippo Campus is that it doesn't have any songs from their EPs, or even any songs that carry the same freshman enthusiasm. Oh, and also there's no transition from Epitaph to Simple Season. You can't just play it like that live and then not feature it on the album!!!

The band formed in 2013, made up of frontman Jake Luppen, co-frontman/guitarist Nathan Stocker, bassist Zach Sutton, and drummer Whistler Allen (on-stage the band uses the code names Stitches, Beans, Espo, and Turntan), all of whom met...
