iTunes Review

With their debut album, the Southern California quartet Bad Suns build on the success of their 2013 breakout single "Cardiac Arrest." Like that exuberant slice of alt-rock excellence, Language & Perspective brims with a captivating mix of influences, from '80s new wave to '00s dance-punk, with excursions through reggae and synth-pop. The energetic opener, "Matthew James," struts its stuff with frisky guitars and a sing-along woah-oh chorus, while "Pretend" switches gears with a midtempo groove and acoustic interlude. Giving "Cardiac Arrest" a run for its money, however, is "Salt," a criminally catchy track with all the makings of a pop smash: funky percussion, smooth keys, and vocal melodies that linger in your head for days.

Explicit version

I bought the explicit version but dancing on quicksand is the clean version. This happen to anyone else?

Amazing live

Saw them open for the 1975 & fell in love. Dancing on quicksand is incredible, as are all their other songs. Preordered & can't wait for the full album

Dancing on Quicksand is labeled explicit, but that's not what I hear

The bandmembers were all relatively young, ranging in age from 19 to 22, but had taken cues for their sound from '70s and '80s post-punk pioneers like the Cure and Elvis Costello. Bad Suns blended the angsty songwriting influence of these legends with a more contemporary look into hook-heavy indie rock to form the basis of their extremely...
