bright, energetic, enjoyable rendition
Enjoyably brisk rendition of this magnificent organ symphony. Some might take issue with the orchestra's sometime exuberance, but I think it lends a wonderful energy to the performances. It's hard not to be in awe of the work, and Duitoit has placed no obstacles to pure enjoyment. On a lighter side, the Carnival is absolutely delightful. You're never looking behind you for the piano, but neither are the soloists overtly demanding of attention; it is a brilliant, lively synchronization. A fine job all around.
This album has exceeded my expectations...I purchased it to hear the Symphony No. 3 in C Minor and this particular interpretation is absolutely breathtaking!!! 5 stars!
Really, really good
This is a very good rendition of this great piece. Personally, i think that the organ is just a little less powerful for what the piece calls for, but it is just fine. the Carnival is well played, with everything audible. buy this.
