S' Wonderful

Great, beautiful album. TB is haunting and right on target as we've come to expect from his later recordings (Bounce, Flow, A Tale of God's Will). Long-time sideman Brice Winston does the job with taste and style. They work so well together it brings back fond memories of Miles/Coltrane and, later, Miles/Shorter. The vocals are from some of the best women of jazz. Diana Krall, Jane Monheit, Dianne Reeves, Cassandra Wilson. What more do you want since Ella and Sarah are no longer available? (JK). The ladies brought their "A" game to the studio. It's very, very good if you like straight-ahead but melodic jazz with a strong tincture of romance. Get out the Riedel glasses and dim the lights.
