A fine guitarist who is blues-based but does not stick exclusively to the blues, Skip Heller teams up on this set with two excellent musicians from Alabama: organist Chris Spies and drummer David White. Although Heller's set of originals pays tribute to Pete Seeger and the Weavers, Dave Alvin of the Blasters, guitarist Emily Remler, Heller's wife, and Johnny "Guitar" Watson, among others, this is an instrumental program and not necessarily in anyone else's style.
