Best Album Yet

I've been a long time fan of Mr. Pallett... ever since I saw him perform at the Kitchen Benefit in New York City almost three years ago. This CD does not fail as he has finally beefed up his production and given us a glimpse at his incredible orchestrating skills. I'm also glad he ditched the Final Fantasy moniker and decided to just be himself which obviously comes across with this album more so then any other. Favorite tracks so far include 'Heartland', 'Lewis Takes Off his Shirt' and 'The Great Elsewhere'. Plain and simple... this CD is stunning. Incredible musician, incredible writing and definitely the best indie entry in 2010, thus far.

Early 2010 "album of the year" front-runner

I know, I know -- everybody hates the first guy to start declaring "album of the year" nods -- but Owen Pallet's "Heartland" is the most exciting thing I've heard since the Fiery Furnaces' "Blueberry Boat" or Joanna Newsom's "Ys". As a writer for the Guardian wrote, this is "an album of highly personal, highly strung song symphonies channelled through the bizarre concept of 'a farmer named Lewis' and the fictional world of Spectrum." Love orchestral pop? Have a thing for strong lyrics and well-wrought concepts? This album is for you.

Wow! How can I be the first review here!?: A Vague Review

Owen Pallett, as most of us know as Final Fantasy or for his work on A Flying Club Pop by Beirut or touring with the Arcade Fire is a fantastic and talented musician. Upon listen to the samples of this album you will notice this album sounds much more electronic and different from his earlier works. I recommend buying this album however as it is very great as can be expected from Owen Pallett.
