I've liked the vast majority of Spearhead's music, and I get that Franti and crew have always been evolving and trying different things with their music, but these last two albums have left me very disappointed. I was so excited for Sound of Sunshine when it came out, but after listening a bunch of times, I could barely find anything to like about it (other than it being made by Franti & Spearhead). I really wanted to like it, but just didn't. I accepted it though, and hoped that this would be a temporary detour into the radio-friendly beach-vibe world. Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be the case.. All People, if anything, pushes farther in that direction -- with the addition of a whole lot of poppy club beats. Not only can I not get into this music, but I feel as though there is nothing to get into. It's just bland. I'm all for artist development, and if this is what Michael wants to do, I can only accept it. All I can say is that I'm a fairly bummed out..
The few songs played at the recent concerts have been amazing (long ride home, life is better with you, gangsta girl being my fav)! Cannot wait for the rest, it will probably be wonderful as always!
Michael, what's up man. I'm from the town and have always supported your music, but this album is HORRIBLE. Go back to your Reggae, Jazz, Afro-Jazz Roots and put out another album.
