Snoop Dogg is reborn as a Lion in this single. It brings a new reggae feel to his old rap style. It won't be for everyone, but for what it is, it's not too bad.

Snoop is one of the only rapper out there who can mess with other genres and still come out strong. This track is a banger that's all about unity and rides as hard as any of his "gangsta" tracks. "La La La", "Here Comes The King" and now "Lighters Up" are all proof that Snoop is a musician of the highest caliber who warrants the career longevity that he's been blessed with. If you can't handle the innovation, you can stay out of the kitchen. I plan on eating this up until "Reincarnated" is released.

Although Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. was doing more than fine under his hip-hop moniker Snoop Dogg, a 2012 trip to Jamaica convinced the rapper that reggae was his true calling and that he should assume the Rasta name Snoop Lion. Granted to Snoop by a Jamaican high priest, the name was first floated during a summer 2012 press conference introducing the debut Snoop Lion single, "La La La," which was released on the Berhane Sound System label...
