On this short collaboration, Anderson .Paak presents himself as the second coming of Marvin Gaye and Bloodstone, while beatmaker Knxwledge complements the singer’s L.A. vibe with distorted breakdowns of vintage vinyl reassembled into hip-hop breakbeats. The centerpiece is “Suede,” in which .Paak leans and rocks in a seductive, pimp-like rasp over a chopped-up loop of Gil Scott-Heron’s “The Bottle.” “Dance with me if you keep up,” .Paak challenges on “Link Up” atop grooving beats that make you want to comply.

NxWorries is the duo of Knxwledge and Anderson Paak, two of the major figures who emerged from Los Angeles' fertile multi-genre music community during the 2010s.
