I see others really like this album, but I was disappointed at how slow all the songs felt. I really like Stephen Lynch, but this just didn't have that fun feel of the other albums. Not as much musical variety as in the past. Vocals were slow and not nearly as funny and witty as I had hoped. Still a fan of Stephen Lynch, just hoped for a little more on this one. Not my favorite album of his. There's 26 songs (13 studio and then again live), but I only enjoyed a few. The rest felt like a bedtime lullaby with a few jokes interspersed. A few good ones that I'll listen to more, but mostly I was unimpressed overall.

As usual, Lynch doesn't disappoint!

Best Album Since Superhero!

THE CRAIG MACHINE was good. THREE BALLOONS left me wanting more. LION is more! In addition to being just great songs - like really, really, good, beautiful songs - they're hilarious. The actual music is almost part of the punch line. A song as pretty as "Tennessee" should not have the lyrics it does. This is album is brilliant. And both live and studio recordings? This is perfect; considering a live version was what I felt was missing from THREE BALLOONS. The album was well worth the wait.
