iTunes Review

With a deep affection for modern R&B and pop, Richard Elliot and producer/guitarist Paul Brown carry on that tradition with mix of seven originals cowritten by them and band members, as well as a few well-chosen covers. Most effective are the lush opener “Desire”—with its Latin rhythms, ringing chorus, and fine playing from Elliot and Brown. Equally strong are the soft, shimmering title track and the pop-oriented “Givin’ It Up.” Those looking for something steamy can turn to his take on Brian McKnight’s “Anytime” or the slow- to medium-tempo “Sookie Sookie.” Other covers are the nuanced version of Bruno Mars' “When I Was Your Man” and the old-school “Shining Star.”

Another Great Album

Another great album from a brilliant musician. I had the opportunity to see him live at the LoneStar Park Horse Race Track in Grand Prairie Texas several years ago when he and George Benson were performing there. The performance was tight and together, the sound was perfect and well balanced. If you are listening to Richard Elliot for the first time and enjoy this, check out his early albums theres a lot of good music to enjoy.

CD is....OK

One of the problems with smooth jazz is after a number of yrs, it all sounds the same!!
This a nice sounding CD. But nothing..innovative here. Elliot does give imspired live shows though. I wish more smooth jazz artist would take just a liitle more risk and variety with their presentations though,

Keeping the Sound!

Sounds like the R.E. I have enjoyed for years. Good job!!!

For five years in the 1980s, he was a big part of the classic R&B band's horn-based sound. The Scottish-born Elliot was raised in Los Angeles, where he quickly became a fan of classic West Coast R&B. Elliot landed his first job while still a teenager with Natalie Cole and the Pointer Sisters. A few years later, he was tapped...
