This is from the park!

Questions have been raised as to if this is actual music from the park or not. The answer is YES! On the right hand corner of Main Street when entering the park from the Train Station you would have found the Wurlitzer dealership. This was set up by the Wurlitzer company in trade for the contract with Disneyland to use Wurlitzer pianos and organs at all of the performance venues in the park when it opened. Daily, an organist would play on a large Wurlitzer theater organ in the store and the music was then piped out into the town square. Dee Fisher was one of the organists and this is an ablum of music that she played on a similar organ to the one used at the park.

Take a stroll down to Walt's Original Disneyland

Although some of you may not believe this, but Walt Disney's Disneyland was originally meant to offer a little bit of something to every different age group. Main Street, by it's very nature, was to be a relaxing spot, where you could sample a bit of the slower times of the turn of the century. The biggest attractions of the area were the Horsedrawn Streetcar, Jittney, Railroad and the old time cinema. Although Main Street had their Barbershop Quartet and Disneyland Band, it also had a Wurlitzer Shop, where at night Mr. Dee Fisher would play Disney tunes on one of the shops Organs, while guests exited the park. Although this wasn't considered an official Disneyland concert, it became part of the musical fabric of the early Disneyland experience. Listening to this music as a youngster, I would envision myself at Disneyland in the evening as this music played on my turntable. It fits right into the early Disneyland experience quite well. Some people might be turned off by the fact that this music is missing guitars, bass and drums. I happen to think that it is a reminder that simpler things are often times better, especially at Disneyland.

The 1st reviewer is right. This is music you heard on Main Street. I believe it is being played on an organ. It may not be what you expected, you may have been thinking of a soundtrack. But when looked at as organ music it really is quite lovely. When I close my eyes I could swear I'm on Main Street looking into one of the candy shops with my sister. This could also be lovely background music at a brunch, an afternoon tea, etc.
